Frequently Asked Questions
Got Questions About Your Port Credit to Toronto Transit?
What if the weather is bad?
What if I’m not comfortable on the water?
Most guests feel very comfortable on “Grace, Too” thanks to her stable Down‑Easter style hull. If you’re sensitive to motion, the best place to sit is mid‑ship in the main cabin, where the boat moves the least. This area is close to the waterline and offers the smoothest ride.
You can also sit mid‑ship in the open cockpit if you prefer fresh air and a clear view of the horizon — both can help reduce motion discomfort.
If you use motion‑sickness medication, take it well before your trip. Those little pills need a head start, and they definitely don’t like being in a race with the boat.
And if all else fails… make sure you’ve nominated someone to hold your hair. Every group has a hero.
What time do you stop working to spend time with your family?
We don’t. They’re lovely — truly — but getting you home after the concert, extra innings, or whatever Toronto throws at you is the priority. Book in advance and we’ll make it work.
What if we’ve had a great night and want to keep the party going on the way home?
The law says we can’t do that. Our captain or host must refuse alcohol service if you’ve already had too many. Ask us about “Deloris”. She ruined it for everyone.
I have kids - are we going to hear “are we there yet?” the whole way?
Probably not. We’ve got a treasure trove of distraction tools to keep them busy. Most kids forget to be bored once the shoreline starts moving.
Are you pet friendly?
Absolutely – we’re pet friendly. Your dog is welcome aboard without question; you, however, will be evaluated on a vibebased system.
How many people fit on the boat?
Can we order alcohol onboard?
Full bar service coming soon.
Yes — we offer a cocktail package, but every guest must show valid ID once aboard.
Ontario liquor laws set a drink limit, and we follow them strictly. If anyone is caught sneaking a drink to an underage guest, the charter ends immediately. No refund. Nearest port. Night over.
Can we book the boat to drop us off at a port other than the ones mentioned?
Most things are possible. “Grace, Too” is reliable offshore, but longer distances take more time. If you have a destination in mind, call us and we’ll curate a journey that works — as long as it’s safe, legal, and the lake cooperates.
I’m hungry - what can we do about it?
You can preorder a charcuterie board, pastry basket, or light snacks. All addons are available in the “AddOns” section when booking.
How do we find you after the event?
Can we spend a few hours on the Island and then get picked up?
Of course. We have a dock on the Island, and we’re happy to wait while you enjoy your time there. When you’re ready, we’ll be right where we said we’d be.
What if we have to cancel?
Cancellations happen. **Chris will be adding the full cancellation policy here**, including timelines, refunds, and weather related exceptions.
What’s with the Boat Name.
“Grace, Too” is our Canadian nod in a long tradition of naming boats after songs — following in the wake of “Bron‑Y‑Aur”, “Ramble On”, and “Ob‑La‑Di”; It’s our way of tipping the hat to The Tragically Hip, and a quiet remembrance and thanks to Gord for all he gave us.
